Community Patch 4.1 With feedback from the community some badasses have created an unofficial community patch for Borderlands 2 to make the game even more badass. By tricking the hotfix update proces data will now be loaded in from a local file instead of the Borderlands servers. With the second patch the community started addressing the skill trees of the various vault hunters. How to install the Community Patch: Before you go and apply the Borderlands 2 unofficial community patch i would like to point out these few things:. Don’t have Borderlands 2 running on your system when you apply these changes. All changes are made at your own risk, Gearbox Software, 2K Games, The Community Devs, or Me(ntalMars) are not responsible if you break your game. All input commands below need to be done without the “”, just use the content between the tags. Currently the community patch is only available on PC.
Applying this on the consoles would break the terms of service which could result in other nasty stuff. You have to be in online modus or else the patch won’t work (if you want to play offline use the offline version if available).

Guns 1. Changed Kerblasters main projectile to be Grenade Splash 2. Buffed the Stinkpot to be in line with the regular Cannon(which was buffed in 2.0) 3. Torgue Barreled ARs now cost 2 ammo per shot, from 4 per shot. Torgue Barrel for Bandit AR now cost 2 ammo per shot, from 3 per shot.
Stalker Should be able to spin now (Didnt before) 6. Made the Chopper consume 4 ammo per shot instead of 6, and gave it 10% more damage. Removed all the penalties of the Trespasser, and made it Dahl barrel, plus a few damage buffs. Made the Judge have the Jakobs Barrel, with 35% increase in damage. Made the Avengers ammo regen way faster (5 per second), and gave it 20% extra damage. Fixed the Bolt Action snipers fire rate again (they were slower than the usual) Shields 19. Buffed the capacity and regeneration rate of the Manly Man Shield, reduced the curse effect, massively increased the damage dealt, and made it so youre completely immune to explosive damage. Buffed the Vault Hunter relic to drop Blues (Thats what rare means) from 5% to 7.5%, it has been tested and its a significant increase because of how loot works. (What the relic does is just buff blue drop rates for less whites, thats it, dont get it confused.) COMs 22. Reverted back Legendary Grenadier to Legendary Pointman and Made it boost Crisis Management, Grit, Forbearance, Able and Healthy. (Reasoning behind this is that it was the only COM that was custom and it was overlapping with other mods.) 23. Unofficial Community patch v2.1 (Contains bug fixes and some requested features mostly) Change log. Reverted back the Ogre’s barrel back to Spinny Vladof (Sin time delay was still there), but it should still have a 10% gun buff. Reverted back Aggression relics back the original form (They weren’t giving you any damage bonus at all). Accidently buffed the Torgue barrel related to bandit twice (It should buff bandit and dahl now). H3RL-3 should have a 33% chance to drop the Orphan Maker instead of 10% (It’s a blue so it should drop more often like the rest).
Hellfire should have a stronger DoT now (By 30% more than the original buff) and bigger splash. Reverted back the Legendary Reaper to the original form (I didn’t playtest this right and made it somehow worse). Tuned down the melee damage on the pun-chee (It was 1.56 mil pre-patch, my patch made it 2.48 mil but now is should be slightly higher than a hide, but not too much since there’s no point in getting a hide). Further buffed the Impaler’s damage. Guns. Reverted the Emperor back from the Torrent and made it have a middle ground between both.
(Now it’s a buffed Emperor with Increased Damage and faster fire rate, and also spawns with a scope, don’t forget that.). Made Dahl E-Tech ARs have the E-Tech buff as well. Made All E-Tech AR have penetration. Buffed Bandit Pistols. (Same as the Assault Rifle Buff, sacrificed magazine for other stats, so their reload speed, fire rate and damage for less magazine.). Made Gemstone weapons have their own rarity, with the benefits of being one rarity higher (More gun damage, accuracy and magazine size).
Buffed the Torgue barrel for Assault Rifle to do more damage. (30% for some, and 40% for some).
Made Torgue Barrel for Assault Rifle to be considered Grenade damage. Made the bearcat to be considered grenade damage. Made the Carnage always spawn with 3 projectiles, and Vertical accessory gives it massive recoil reduction and a bit of damage increase (30%).
Made the Stalker have the Vladof barrel with increased projectile speed. Made Bandit Plasma casters shoot like other plasma casters with the same status. Slowed down the fire rate of Bolt Action sniper rifles to balance them in normal mode and TVHM (It isn’t much). Made The Ogre the other vladof barrel, and gave it 10% damage buff. Removed the -20% Penalty on Assault Rifles to make them compete in end game. Removed the Tunguska’s self- damage on the big radius.
Reversed the bonuses for Bandit and Torgue sights buffs by accident, but they’re fixed now. Indirectly buffed the gub as part of the Bandit Pistol buff. Indirectly buffed the Tinderbox as part of the Bandit Pistol buff. Changed the Laser Accuracy accessory of pistols to boost projectile speed by 40% instead of 20%. Boosted the damage of the HawkEye by 8%.
Boosted the damage of the Veruc by 10%. Boosted the damage of the Seeker by 30%.
Buffed the Actualizer’s reload speed, with an additional 30% more damage. Reverted back the changes made to the volcano, instead, it has a big splash radius with increased DoT damage by 65%. Buffed the hellfire’s splash radius (Tripled) and damage over time. (By 10%). Lifted up the damage penalty of the infection by a bit. (200%) and upped the dot damage by 30%.
The Tediore Barrel on Pistols now gives you reload speed instead of nothing. (It’s a fair amount) Shields. Reverted the WTF shield back from the Bigg Thumppr. Made the Bigg Thumppr an actual legendary melee shield. (Replaced the Pot o’ Gold.). Made the WTF shield not harm you, spawn an extra projectile from the original three, have more damage and more chance to spawn them. Made the Fabled Tortoise slow you down less.
Went from 80% to 40%. Made the love thumper not do friendly damage. Relics. Fixed the UI of the movement speed relic. COMs. Restored back the shock trooper to the original form (The bonuses weren’t applying right and they were sort of broken).
Fixed Most of the UI Problems with skills. (I.E Gaige’s COMs not showing the proper skills). Buffed the Spy’s CoM’s cooldown by a lot. Salvador’s Beast Class Mod now boosts Aint got time to bleed instead of Just got real. Fixed the health passive on Beast’s class mod to be multiplicative. Salvador’s Titan Class mod now boosts Sexual Tyrannosaurus instead of Out of Bubblegum. Legendary Titan now boosts Ain’t Got Time to Bleed and Sexual Tyrannosaurus instead of Out of Bubblegum and Locked and Loaded.
Zer0’s Survivor COM now boosts Innovate instead of Resurgence. Fixed the Health passive on Zer0’s Survivor mod to be multiplicative.
Made Legendary Reaper boost Boiling Blood instead of Blood overdrive, and Salt the wound instead of Thrill of the kill. Made Krieg’s Crunch class mod boost Salt the Wound instead of Blood Bath.

This post covers the remastering progress for the textures and models displayed in the “Examine View.” As some of you know, the weapons are based on real life models. I tried to be faithful to the original RE4 textures while using those real life weapons as reference.
It was interesting to see why some of the weapons’ original textures look grainy. I always thought it was a cheap trick to give the weapon some texture detail and that it looked quite bad. But nothing could be further from the truth — those weapon materials are made of some kind of plastic that DOES have that grainy texture. Regarding the items, fortunately only a few of them really needed a total remaster process. Others only needed partial touch-ups, and a few more just need a few Photoshop filters.
Finally, a decent bumpmap did the rest. As you can see in the video, I’ve applied custom specular values to every item. It’s even possible to apply different brightness to different parts of the same model! This is great because we can make wood and different kinds of metal and plastic shine at different intensities and with different specular values. So, the same texture that was repeated more than 100 times is now just one single texture.
All the repeated textures have been replaced with dummy 4×4 dds files. Some redirected cutscene texture calls: A lot of cutscenes use stage textures, but they were copied again inside the corresponding cutscene texture.pack file instead of using the stage texture.pack file. I’ve redirected these texture calls to the stage.pack files and all the repeated textures inside the cutscene texture.pack files have been replaced with dummy 4×4 dds files, too. I have no idea how big the cutscene texture packs would be if these 2 last points hadn’t been possible. I’d say the final version won’t reach 1 GB (only the cutscenes textures I mean), which makes me think that an non-optimized HD version would easily reach more than 5 GB in size.
And here goes the regular update: Finally, I’ve revisited ALL the Island rooms. Their lights and effects are now revised and improved, just like all the other areas of the game. As usual, I’ve improved more of the 3D models and textures as I went. I hope you like the comparison images (a small selection) and the cutscene comparison video! And now it’s time to prepare something BIG.
We’ll keep you updated about it ?. Here’s a new round of Island area comparison shots showing the latest refinements (see gallery below). Also, I’d like to show you how the dynamic lighting looks now on enemies with torches and crossbows, along with some extra improvements (see the video below). A short explanation for those who are not following every post on this site: This second remastering pass I’m doing on the Island section is mostly focused on lighting and effects adjustments.
We learned how to make these kind of edits when I was remastering the last areas of the game, which is why I’ve gone back to previous areas to apply everything I learned. I’m also taking the opportunity to make some quick 3D / texture / shadow improvements. All Village and Castle area lighting and effects have already been remastered. Only a few Island areas remain and we’ll be ready to prepare the next release ? EDIT: New comparison video below!
Here is the surprise: As you can see, this is a cutscene using the “Special 1” costume option, which (as you probably know) gives Leon his costume from RE2. The surprise is that now Ada is wearing her RE2 outfit as well!
This is something I’d like to include at least as an extra / optional pack (as this requires just a few files to be replaced). Making this change possible comes courtesy of Son of Persia, once again. In fact, I really have no idea if another modder already did this, but when I first played through the game with the “Special 1” costume option I was disappointed to see Ada just wearing her spy costume. I expected to see Ada wearing her RE2 outfit just like Leon (just as we can see in the Assignment Ada ending). I’m sure many people thought the same thing the first time they saw it Don’t miss the last part of the video ? As for the rest of the update, the Assignment Ada stage files finally received their first big remaster job (as well as Leon’s equivalent areas). In the screenshots below, I’m showing things that weren’t polished during the first Island revision.

BASIC Patch - Well, it is finally here. The RE4 Community BASIC Patch. This is the patch that is made to improve the visuals of RE4, without being too demanding on mid range PCs. The BASIC patch includes;.Albert's V1.0 Textures.Cerberus' V1.0 Enhanced Enviroment Textures.SpookyFox's cinematic patch.Fixed laser.PS2, X360 & Keyboard button packs.And a codec patch for thoes who do not have the required codecs to run the cinematic patch. Below are the download links for the BASIC Patch. Download links can currently be found at DOWNLOAD 1 - DOWNLOAD 2 - DOWNLOAD 3 - NOTE Found an error in the BASIC Patch that if you do not select the PS2 button pack to be installed, the installer will crash at the end of the install. It's not a big deal, just Ctrl+Alt+Del and close the patch installer.
The patch will still be completely installed on your system Sorry for the error. A later updated build of the installer will be released at a later time. ULTIMATE Patch - The ULTIMATE Patch's construction is under way.
While things have been delayed due to technical difficulties, the Patch is definately coming.
